Hi all,
I Didn't know where to post this, so let me know if this is the right forum for this.
Anyway, I'm thinking about buying a new Bolt X to replace my bolt 2 that I bought in June of 2014. Here are my questions:

1. Is there a way to just buy a new motherboard, cpu and power supply to just upgrade my Bolt 2 that I already have? I know this would be cheaper than buying a hole new PC. I find that it is not really keeping up with the newest games in 4k or even 1440 since it is tech that came out in 2013/2014.

2. If I must buy a Bolt X, is it possible to buy it WITHOUT a graphics card? I ask because I have a 1080 ti in my current PC. I bought the card in 2018 and it is still going strong in my Bolt 2 and I'd rather use it in my new Bolt X instead of wasting money on a new graphics card.

Thank you for any feedback.

Hey Serious!

Both of the options are absolutely viable. If you would like to move forward with upgrading your Bolt 2, we would love to upgrade it for you.

If you would like to have us complete the upgrade, go ahead and go the support tab at the top of the webpage and hit "request help". One of our phone technicians will help you with upgrading your system.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you! But I am leaning towards buying a new bolt x. So is it an option to purchase one without a graphics card, so I can use the one I already have in my current system?

You can absolutely order without a graphics card. There should be an option under "Graphics Card(s)", "No thanks".

Awesome! Now I’ve installed a new graphics card in my current bolt 2 a few years ago and it was pretty easy. Would it be the same in the bolt x? Would it come with the correct cables or would I have to use my own cables to install the graphics card?

There is a "special notes" section in the configurator. Please type the required PCI-e cables needed to power your GPU, that way our Assembly Technicians can prewire it for you.

Personally I think that if you can install a GPU yourself inside of a Bolt 2, the Bolt X should be a piece of cake.
