So guys, I was planning on buying my new rig from DS this month.. I am wondering what you guys think about waiting until January.. think anything will be coming out in early January that would be worth the wait? I wonder what DS will be doing for promotions, such as their current "up to $300" off.. I am sick of waiting to fire the gun, but I am glad I did now because it gave me time to do a lot more research on this forum and gain a lot of great advice from you all, especially Alex and DST4ME, so thank you both and keep up the great work!

I think new ati gpus are coming out, at ces we should here more about nvidia's gpus.

Yeah, if we all waited around for the new upcoming hardware right around the corner, we'd never buy anything. The way things are these days, anytime you buy a computer, six months later (if not even sooner), it's obsolete. I just bought one that arrived this past Monday on the 13th and I'm quite happy with it. Even the box it replaced is still perfectly adequate to handle just about any game I threw at it. So I wouldn't let myself get too caught up in the hype over the next "big thing".

DST have you heard anything new about when the new nvidia cards GPU's are coming out? I dont go near ATI.. also Im sure DS will have another promo, they always have something on.. although I am sick of waiting already.

I thought the 28nm Nvidia GPUs were supposed to be out before the ATI ones. Something having to do with they both use the same manufacture for the chips and that manufacture will be making Nvidia's chips first. I read something saying exactly that but for the life of me I can't find it.
Jan is always a cool month here in Vegas, we get both CES and the AVN convention. Although AVN won't be running the same weekend as CES like it has in the past. |

Well we dont know wht the promo will be so you may get a better deal than ordering it now.. or maybe not, who knows.. I always see some sort of discount every month but Im not sure how often the free warranty upgrade comes along that they have now.. I dunno, Im sick of waiting.. but its hard to pull the trigger and drop over $3K on a computer.. |
