Hi, I'm having a problem with some of the software options for the VANQUISH gaming PC. I'm not to big of a fan of Windows 8, so I want 7 instead. I've seen an option to change from 8 to 7 for this pc and now it seems to have disappeared, all I see is "more info" link. Nothing else, can anyone help me with this?
Again it's the VANQUISH gaming PC, the 810$ one. Thanks, Jeff |

Last week Vanquish changed to Windows 8. No Windows 7.

I can't speak for DS, that's what they pay Alex the big bucks for, but the Vanquish is a as-is build, ready to ship. Not to try to sell you Win8, but DirectX upgrades for increased gaming performance is Win8 only. I think with Win7, you'll just start getting left behind, but Win7 still works great.
Good luck. I personally wouldn't ignore the Vanquish line because of the OS, but everyone has to make their own decisions.

Sorry but it's only Windows 8.1 now, no longer Windows 7.
In all honesty, Windows 8.1 is just as good, if not faster than windows 7. It takes some getting use to with the new Metro interface, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy and becomes natural. |

Have you used Windows 8? I wasn't convinced based on all the complainers on the internet but made the change due to the big performance increase in Battlefield 4. I now run it on 3 systems and it's noticeably faster all round. I saw improvements in many other games too. I use Start8 to get the real Start menu back. It looks and feels just like 7, but adds more features and runs faster. Do you have a specific reason to want to stick with Win 7? Edited by ScottishBattleAx - 26 Dec 2013 at 6:32am |
