Hey Folks,

I have an EVGA X58 motherboard, and I'm unable to enter the BIOS setup screen. It says I should press the Del key to enter setup. I tried rebooting about 10 times. Sometimes I held the key down. Other times I pressed the key repeatedly very fast. Other times I pressed it just once after seeing the message. I tried the backspace key, and I tried the forward delete key.

None of that worked. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks.

as soon as turn the pc on, keep hitting the delete key till you get to bios.

This is really weird. I did just what you suggested (repeatedly pressing the delete key), and it had no effect. Hmmm, I never had this issue before.

Oh well, I don't REALLY need to change the BIOS. I just wanted to verify my settings.

Hi James,

Just a thought. Don't use the delete key on the key pad. If you have Nub Lock operated the delete key will be a decimal point. Probably not the problem but give it a try.

You may also want to try a PS2 keyboard. I've seen where certain USB keyboards don't initialize in time for the DEL key to work when a system boots up.
