Hi Folks,
I'm plotting out my purchase (soon - very soon) and trying to figure out which SSD to get.  The Samsung Pro 850 is nice but I was wondering if DS can order the Samsung SM951.  I don't think this is available yet in retail but is shipping to OEMs like Apple etc.  I figure with the Rampage V Extreme MB it would be a pretty cool addition.

Also, what are some of the better SSDs.  The 850 Pro I know is up there.  I don't think I've seen anything better than the SM951 though (although I shudder to see the cost)...

Hi Arkansas - thanks - I do know that.  The issue is if that part would be available for DS to order.  It seems like it has a limited distribution...

Arkansas, this isn't about ordering a part that isn't listed on the site, it's about ordering a part that isn't available to consumers yet on the retail market, but available to manufactures for OEM systems.

This is a tricky question, one very hard to answer Dax, as DS has been known to have hardware as soon as it's released or even insight on things before NDA are lifted.

Give Alex an email and you'll probably get a quicker response. I'm going guess probably not though, but it would be really cool if they could. I'd be interested in seeing some performance.

Thanks Meller - probably a better route would be to email Alex directly.  I'll wait a day or two to see if he checks in on this thread and if not, I guess I'll try that route.  Does anyone know the email address off hand.  I'm sure if I scour the forum I can find it as I know he gives it out to people like candy to Trick or Treaters.  Big%20Smile

We don't have access to this drive yet as it's not in the "channel" but with larger OEM accounts only such as Dell/HP/etc...

You have a couple of options for support.

[email protected] (should try this one first)

[email protected] (try the management email first before going directly to alex. Give the team a chance to address it as Alex no doubt has a lot going on)

Only if it's available in the channel, which is basically places like e-tailers for example like NewEgg.
