Sure, but you’d have to replace the cpu and motherboard to match.   Can’t mix the two.

You’d have to Google the cpu and see what motherboard socket fits.   Or go to Newegg for example and select the cpu.   They’ll normally list compatible motherboard to match.

Just to add....every cpu has a pin count and designated socket it fits.   Motherboards also list the socket it uses.   The 8700 cpu uses socket 1151 as an example.

Yes it is possible, I actually went from Intel(6700k) to AMD(2700x). With that being said, I you will need a new MB, RAM (depending on how old your current setup is and what you are going to), and possibly a cooler depending on what you currently use.
