Can/should I upgrade my digital storm xm11?

Hi all, I have a 2 year old level 1 xm15 with the following specs:

Chassis Model: Digital Storm xm15 Laptop (Model: 3260)
Processor: Intel Core i5 2450M (2.5 GHz Turbo Mode to 3.1Ghz) (Dual Core) (3MB Cache)
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Primary Hard Drive: Intel 120GB SSD (520 Series) (SATA 6Gb/s)
Video Card(s): NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M 1GB with NVIDIA Optimus Technology
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition)

I notice the framerate isn't too great on newer games. Can I throw in a new processor and video card and see a big performance boost at a reasonable price, or would it be more cost effective to just buy a new laptop?

I've never upgraded (or even disassembled) a laptop so I'm wary of the whole hardware upgrade process too, is that more trouble than it's worth? I used to build my own desktop computers all the time but I'm not sure what to expect when taking apart a laptop.
