Well done! I'll let The Smart Guys® chime in on the config.. they're exponentially better at that than I am... but I can tell you that if you wish to get the "Verified Customer" badge just make certain that your forum's email and your ordering email addresses are exAcTLy the same (yes, case matters).

I'm certain they'll be along shortly.. welcome back and welcome to DS ownership club.

Is it true lumos has better airflow than lynx 3?.

Will try and correct my email, thanks.

You are wasting money on more Ram than you'll need for gaming. You really should get better storage instead. I also urge you to upgrade your power supply. DS systems are well known for longevity, and a GPU upgrade could be in your future. The 600W PSU will limit your choices, and a PSU is a really tough upgrade if you don't know your way around a computer build.

I have a couple of suggestions to consider, one Intel and one AMD:

https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4205141

https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4205142

The 11900K vs the 5600X is most of the difference in price, and it's more CPU than you need. Nothing wrong with that, but the AMD build allows for a nice motherboard upgrade for more input/output options and some quality enhancement. They both include the stronger PSU. Here's how the procs compare:

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i9-11900K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-5600X/4110vs4084

The 5600X runs cooler than the Intel chip, so a single fan cooler is all you need. It will game well for several years to come, but so will the 11900K.

Whichever way you go, the 500GB 980 PRO SSD is an upgrade you surely want. The DS SSD is SATA, the 980 is NVMe running off the same bus as a video card. The 980 is up to 9 TIMES faster, and will enhance your experience every time you use your computer. Response from the combo of either CPU, your GPU, and storage is instant.

It is never recommended to overclock a modern CPU for gaming. It makes all the cores run hot all the time when only a couple will be involved running a game. One or two cores will "Turbo" to a higher speed on demand from the workload.

Honestly, the 980 PRO is a game-changer for all you do.

So you think I don’t need 32gb for my video editing aswell?

Welcome to DS.
You have been given real good opinions and facts on the hardware. MS Flight Simulator recommends 32GB of RAM for ideal play. It is a highly intensive graphically rich game. If you do any kind of numbers crunching work, the added RAM will be a must. My son does scientific work and has 64GB in his pc and at times wishes he had more.

Video editing can use RAM does it not?

Good catch. I didn't see anything about video editing in the post. Yes, 32GB will be a better choice with that in mind.

You can call/email and change anything you want in the early stages. DS wants you to have exactly what you want.   If you are running video editing software on this rig, you definitely want a 980 PRO to run it from, or at least a 970 EVO PLUS.

Ok

Should I also stick with the double fan cooler cause of future upgrades or go with your suggestion of single fan.

Agreed, the ssd will benefit you now and you'll see a major improvement on performance. And you could save a little money on the ram IMHO

I didn't know about your video editing use when I suggested the AMD build. That's a good gaming rig, but not heavy processing power. You want the Intel 11900K for that, and the dual fan is needed with that proc. The 32GB of RAM is also a good choice for that work. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Here's what I would do at your price point:

https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4208321

I hope you can squeeze that into your budget.

You could save $116 and get RGB fans if you built into a Lynx case, but I know you like the Lumos.

https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4208318

Hope it helps.

I choose the lumos cause in my original post, john18 recommends it, but yeah,it looks way good than the lynx. On my cpu boost, I choose stage 1 overclock cpu. I came across a YouTube video who recommends it, why shouldn’t I if I may ask?

Once again, the original post didn't say you had a productivity use. I didn't look at your post from a year ago.

If you want to overclock your CPU for video editing, that's a use that makes some sense since you will be using all cores. The Turbo feature is plenty for gaming.

Hi Crate,
Just spoke with DS about changing my SSD storage. I now have the 500GB Pro, but wasn’t able to have the 2TB Seagate / Toshiba / Hitachi you suggested on my other Storage. They said it’s incompatible with my lumos built

I have the 500GB 980 PRO SSD also in my new system I got a few weeks ago and I love it! It allows Windows to boot within seconds and everything is lightning fast with it.

Congrats on having a new Digital Storm headed your way. Mine replaced an older 12 year old DS system that only needed a fan replaced in all those years and still games pretty good.

When you get your new system you will be amazed by the overall performance!

That's news to me, and, I think, everyone else here. This image shows two of them mounted behind the motherboard in a Lumos case.. These are 1TB Western Digital Black HDDS, but larger capacity (like 2TB) HDDs are the same size as these.

According to tech radar it should be fine for 1440.

https://www.techradar.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti

A short blip from it says:
While the RTX 3060 delivers decent 1080p performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti lets you run all the best PC games with Ultra settings and ray tracing at 1440p – and maybe even 4K if you use DLSS – for not much more.
