Need to change the
"Extreme Cooling: Cool-IT Eliminator Thermoelectric Liquid Chilled CPU Only"

This option isnt ment to deal with the kind of heat your OC extreme chips is going to generate.

Here you can find a benchmark for crisis using 280sli. They get an average of 48 fps using 2 cards. But if you look closely you will see that on occasion the fps drops down to 6-10 fps.
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=476566

How much a 3rd card will change things im not sure. But i really doubt you will manage to get a minimum of 40 fps with any current setup on that game.

Youre wasting a huge pile of money to even use more then one 280 on such a small monitor.

If that beast can't run Crysis, why bother trying to play that game. That's ridiculous.

I dont know why in the fukin world you need an OC on that thing, 3 way sli? with 3 280's? yea... id just settle for one on your monitor.  You have some wierd options for space.... and your ram, if im not mistaken, should come down to below or equal to 1600 mhz

Looks like you just chose the most expensive crap... Crysis isnt THAT much of a monster game, im getting about 35 FPS on my rig (see sig, this is on a 42" lcd)  You should rethink your rig.
DS Rig:
750W PS
Quad Q9450 2.66GHz
Nvidia 780i 1333FSB
4G DDR2 800MHz
750G HDD1
320G HDD2
GeForce 9800GTX 512Mb

You want your ram to be as close, without going over, to or eqaul to your FSB to get a 1:1 ratio, im not to sure on that mobo if it supports the high ratio your at, but if it does, i guess it doesnt matter

two 74 gig HDD's...just seems wierd especially each one just sitting separate from each other, but thats just me

My suggestions:

drop down to one 280 and in the future, if you buy a larger moniter, you can always do SLI (probably for less money).

I would keep one of the 74gb raptors (for XP and Vista) and then, with the money you save from only buying one 280, add a 300gb raptor for your games and maybe a 500gb drive for other data.

I'm not sure you would see any benefit from buying 2000 mhz ram unless you OC your FSB... Maybe downgrade to 1600 or 1800?

I agree with dropping the 2000 mhz ram. This RAM cannot actually run at that speed on the 790i - most users have reported a max of around 1850-1900. I think you will be dissappointed if you buy it and find that you end up running at lower speeds.

In terms of wanting to run Crysis at very high settings with 16AA - Crytek "futureproofed" the game by allowing max settings that were well beyond current hardware - which they have now said was a mistake that they won't repeat. This seriously hurt their sales as Crysis got a reputation of being unplayable with ordinary hardware (even though it looks great even at medium settings on ordinary hardware). There won't be another game released with these kind of hardware requirements for a long time (including Crysis 2 if it ever is made), as publishers have seen how badly it hurt Crysis.

If you have the $$ and its not a big deal I understand your config, but its alot of extra cash for very little noticable benefit.

Not with 16aa.  If you run at 1280x1024, 4aa you might get max settings to work without much dip, but anything beyond that will cause slowdown to some extent.

It is true though...nothing short of Dual Q9650's and Tri-SLI 280 GTX's could handle Crysis at that resolution with max AA.

Yes but whats the point if you have to have a resolution higher than god knows what in order to even compensate for tri sli?? Especially with TRI 280'S! IMEAN CMON!!! thats just a waste of money, your  not even going to notice the difference anyway.

Does dual loop liquid cooling on 3 GPUs and CPU give a noticable preformance increase in games like Crysis as opposed to just cooling the CPU? If there is little noticable difference in frames per second thats alot of money to waste on uneccesary cooling.

Is it still financially wrong for a guy who did their research first and still decided to go with such a setup either way?

It will drop the temps because it has two radiators cooling different things instead of one rad cooling all of that. You won't see any performance upgrade unless you overclock them which will be easier with two loops.

The first question answer: You will not be able to run  at 16aa.  My friend has exactly 3 gtx 280's and can't run it on Crysis.  He receives great frame rates but can't do it.  As everyone else said you won't notice the difference and it is just a waste of money for that small of a monitor.  Maybe for 2 24" LCD monitors it will help you, but if you get that setup that is one midlife crysis.
