As-is, the ODE 4 will perform much better than the Bolt 4 with gtx 680. The Bolt can take the Titan, which brings it much closer to the sli, gtx670 performance. But, the sli 670 still performs better until you get into highres, multi monitor setups.
For me, the Bolt is for those with tight space, only need a single video card and/or are tired of the big towers sitting next to them. DS did a nice job putting it together. The Bolt can be upgraded just fine. Tighter space than the ODE but still not bad from what I can see. The Bolt allows 2x SSD plus 1X HDD. The ODE 4 has more room for drives, more room to work on and can take two video cards in sli. It also has a standard psu with longer warranty. Bottom line for me, is that the Bolt is space friendly and the ODE has much more flexibility. Not sure what monitor and resolution you play on and what games, but for a 1920x1080 single monitor, the gtx 680 will max most games but not all. They're both real nice options.

I just got my ODE lvl4 and love the thing. But like the person above said, it is a beast aka decent size. I just posted a review so you can see some of the photos I took of it.

Just echoing bprat22's sentiments, if you need the smaller form-factor the Bolt is the way to go. Outside of that, I'd probably edge people towards the ODE though.

I got the Ode lvl 1 for the very reason that it would be very easy to upgrade, I fully intended to upgrade fairly quickly but so far the performance has been so good I have no real need to upgrade, frankly I'm surprised at how well a it performs, a nice problem to have I suppose LOL

My next DS rig may very likely be the Bolt, the more I see, the more I like
![]() That being said, I love my Dreadnaught. [Though it wasn't called that when I ordered it] ![]() Edited by Tidgxor - 06 Apr 2013 at 9:15pm |

I agree with Tidgxor. The Bolt is very appealing. I also would give it a serious look if I could.
Going back and forth between the Dreadnought and Bolt makes my head spin.

I think the form factor is probably a huge draw. So many gaming systems are just.. huge. ![]() |

I hear alot about sli configs, but from what I have read they are glichie. Some games don't even support sli setups, so then you have one card just sitting there doing nothing.
The Titan seems like an awesome choice for HD gaming on a big screen. I don't play FPS really, I might play games like bioshock infinite, or tombraider etc. Mostly I would be playing guild wars 2, wow, sc2 heart of the swarm, or diablo 3. So the bolt titan seems like the perfect choice and I tried to build a rig on digital storms website using the same config as the bolt titan i.e. cpu, titan, storage, mb with wifi, and closest I could get to to the cost of the bolt was almost 3 grand. DS has ran tests on the psu(single rail 500 watt) which is used as a rack psu and it had room to spare 350 watts max while running tests on all cores at max and graphics test maxed at the same time, which would never happen while gaming. so the system is sound, and the case design promotes excellent air flow without the need for liquid cooling. Just my opinion, but the DS guys know they're stuff. Thanks Allathorne.

So the 680 can play most games maxed at full HD, what about the titan can it handle full HD gaming with maxed out settings on something like bioshock infinite? I am sure it will play wow maxed at full hd as well as guild wars 2. I know that wow is more cpu intensive then gpu intensive from what I read, especially when running 25 man raids.
I am so excited to get the bolt titan, and play wow, sc2 and diablo 3 on my full hd tv. Just got a nice promotion so starting to save so I can get my new rig by july/ august which I read that DS is doing some revisions to the bolt case to make it easier to open etc. Going to get the white bolt, just looks cooler then the gunmetal. |

So how good is the WiFi on the bolt? I plan on having it in the living room as a HTPC setup, wireless mechanical keyboard, mmo mouse, and headset.

Sli does work for most games. The only issue I have with Titan is its more than double the cost of a gtx670 for about 50-60% better gaming in most cases. But, if you play games unfriendly to sli or just don't want the sometimes hassle of sli then the Titan is the best way to go. That being said, I would be very tempted to get the Titan and stay single card if I was able to.
I've read nothing but good things about Asus WiFi Go. |

I went with a Titan after watching some videos, and I had a SLI system when it first came out and I just don't want to mess around with settings or profiles. I know it's gotten better, just a personal choice - I know the performance per dollar isn't the best, but I'm still excited.
I went back and forth between the Bolt with the Titan or the Dreadnought. I like the idea of just having an obnoxiously large case. The Bolt is a slick little system though, if I traveled with my rig I would have definitely purchased the Bolt. |
