    Posted: 13 Aug 2012 at 3:40pm
I've seen a couple threads on this with people asking for help - so I have decided to be the start for this topic.

Meet Xii, new Liquid Cooling PC owner, avid video gamer and purveyor of Tacos.

Lets use this thread to make a Liquid Cooling (or new PC) Care Compendium.

What are some things users need to know?
How do they care for these systems to ensure we get the best out of their systems in terms of performance and longevity?

I will maintain the thread, keep it organized and whatnot.  Places people - brainstorm time. Strong

Suggestions to Consider:

-  Flush and clean your system once a year.

I am the owner of a Digital Storm Liquid cooled Hailstorm Beast.

This will be a good topic. I always ensure that I have proper level in the 2 reservoirs. I ensure I have flow when I start the system which is kinda hard sometimes but looking at the reservoir you can verify water is flowing.

I am open to any other suggestions.

Cheers

I got the DS Cryo-Tec Hailstorm with 3 separate cooling loops,3 fill ports and 3 drain lines.I use that DS Feser fluid you can get from them.I replaced my 3 fill plugs with 3 Monsoon Silver Bullet Antimicrobial 1/4 plugs. The bacteria attacks the silver and keeps your cooling loops in pristene condition. You get these from performance-pcs.com for $6.00 each. You change out the plugs once a year. You dont have to flush your system out every 3 years.

Do not, despite any overwhelming desire you might have to do so, use Kool-Aid as a coolant. This has been mentioned multiple times on the forums and we have came to the conclusion, after no less than 10,000+ posts worth of debate, that it is not a good idea. Alex and bpratt22 remain adamant that grape Kool-Aid is functional as a coolant as long as sucralose is used as a sweetener, but the Sunny D hypothesis has kept them largely quiet.

Agreed Surf - however the goal is to make a section for DS Owners to look right here nice and handy.  If you see some that are solid, spot on videos and not just peoples opinions by all means post a link, Ill add it.

Found an outstanding video everyone needs to checkout on flushing cooling systems out. U Tube,WestCoastMods,XSPC Rad-How To Efficently Flush A Rad.  I just wonder if Digital Storm flushs out the radiators before there installed to get all the crap out of them. Alex can you answer that for me.

The radiators we receive are pre-flushed and fully clean.
