CAS 7 vs CAS 9.

   I got an unexpected bonus check this week, WOOO! So im thinking of bumping up the ram a notch to 1800.

I still dont know much about ram other then a lower cas rating is good. Ive decideed between corsair and OCZ. The Corsair is CAS9 while the OCZ is CAS7. But the OCZ is about 90 dollars more, would a cas difference of 2 really make that much of an effect on my computer? In other words, is it worth the 90 bucks to get a slightly better CAS rating?

	It's not worth it to me but others might think it is. I'm sure if you tell us what kits you're looking at, we can recommend something better.

	OCZ Platnium 7-7-7-24 vs Corsair XMS3 DHX 9-9-9-24. Im trying to get ones that are certified to work on the 790i, which is why im scared away from other brands like Super Talent or G.Skill

	2x1 or 2x2 or 4x1? And what speed... 1333 or 1600 or 1800+? I know Crucial and Mushkin both work for the 790i. Edited by skyR - 03 Jul 2008 at 7:00pm

	ah crap, i just realized i was looking at 1600 rams DOH i already have 1600 lol....but i was planning on 1800 2x2. Looks like the CAS times are fairly even in the 1800 ranges. prices are very expensive for Corsair though...Looks like ill choose between OCZ Reaper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227322 And Corsair Dominator W/stupid RAM FAN http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145206 Leaning heavly towards the Reaper though, I dont want all my bonus going to 500 buck ram =/.
