I'm not going to be buying my new PC until probably 6-8 months from now, but I am trying to get everything worked out so I'll know what I want my build to be when the day to place the order comes.

I was wondering if it is possible to get a PC built using a case that is not offered on the configurators.

More specifically, the In-Win Dragon Rider.

We are not limited to any parts here at DS, if its not on the config page, you can request it to be used in your pc, it does not matter what it is, we can either ask DS to order it for us, or we can purchase it and have it shipped to DS.

Having said that, I got to tell you that the haf 942 has much better air flow and hotswap bays and etc., only thing I wish it had is the mobo tray.

Also, for a computer that will be used for games as well as After Effects and Photoshop work. Would it be better to go SLI/Crossfire or just use a single high-end GPU?

That depends on your res as far as gaming goes, for cs and stuff like that sli won't matter.

if you are at 1900 x 1200 we recommend either sli 570 or single 570 with option to go sli down teh road, under that single 570/580 would do, above that is gonna be a different story.

Personally, I was leaning more toward the 6950/6970 as I've had really bad experiences with Nvidia. I also don't like some of the things they done business-wise in the past.

The thing that I'm concerned about is, I've been told that Nvidia GPUs tend to give you more bang when it comes to digital media work. Is this true?

To behonest I'm not 100% sure about that answer, for 3d stuff I think nvidia does better, but for gaming its a big different and depends on your res, for example at 1900 x 1200 sli 570 is best band for the buck, while at 2560 x 1600 for high aa settings cf 6970 is the best bang for the buck.

If you want to be sure go to After Effects and Photoshop forums and see what the users recommend.

IMHO the customers have neutral advise to give, and a company/business has to watch the bottom line first, customers don't, so head over there and see if they say there is a big difference for After Effects and Photoshop, I'm thinking for those kind of use, its not gonna be a big deal if any.

Yeah Nvidia and ATI are all about features.  ATI has best bang for buck for the average gamer who doesn't care about 3D or phsyx.  If you want to just game without the extra features then go with ATI for sure.

Also, I've been an ATI and Nvidia owner.  I like Nvidia drivers more.  They tend to release them faster and are more stable (3D still has kinks but still fun).

I would suggest just going with the HAF X, it's a known quantity with great cooling and lots of room for a good price.

The other two look like all fur coat and no knickers.

LOL ya 942 is a better case IMHO

with the extra 200mm fan added to the top you pretty much endup with 4 x 200mm fans.

AMD can do 3D gaming on one monitor, I'm not sure about 3D eyefinity though. AMD just deesn't come with a nice neat little package like Nvidia does.
