I am coming down to the wire on purchasing a system, but am dithering over one final element - case selection. As in my previous post I have two issues, which can be diametrically opposed: cooling and dust.
It was suggested that I use the CM-690 II case, but reviews at bit-tech and elsewhere point to the flimsy connections for the HDs. I will be transferring the surviving HD's from my current system after it finally melts down.
I have also looked at sniper and scout reviews, which show the cases have filters (which are difficult to remove and clean except for the Sniper Black Edition). However, standard case fans for the left side are omitted, reducing cooling.
Finally the HAF 922 and 932, which have excellent cooling, but no filters, although I did find (very expensive) aftermarket filters for these at this link:
I don't know if anyone has tried these filters and can find no reviews.
Any thoughts? Current system (with a CM 690 II) is hovering around $1720, which is under my 1800 budget.

what makes you so concerned about dust filters?
a simple once over with a can of air duster will remedy any dust problems
or are you the guy from out west with tons of dust problems.. ?
if thats the case you cant go with HAF cases, they are open air, so even if you use dust filters on the fans, it will still get in the case through the 1000 different openings
if you need a closed air case, stick with the 690 and pick up some after market filters or just make your own
can you link your previous thread?
