hi trying for 2 months now to configure my new DS system
already own 1 about 4 yrs old. can someone tell me is the HAF 930
a sturdy case?? is it alum. or hard palstic? also does it cool better
than the 850 si(stacker 830)and what case is built better? the price is more for the 850 but have been told that to air cool you need stage 3 and with the haf 930
stage 2 cooling is enough. so it comes down to the question which case
is built better? could save some $$$ on stage cooling for other things but dont
want to sarifice quaility
thanks

From personal experience, the HAF is mostly metal. Lots of airflow throughout the whole thing. For crying out loud, I almost broke (literally!) three of my toes when I accidently smashed them into the side of the case when I was unpcking it / setting it up.

Yes, very solid case. I thought it looked kinda cheap through the internet pictures I saw, but once I had it in my hands, my perception was completely reversed.

I can't comment on any other case, sorry.

Oh, and the reason people say Stage 3 isn't needed on the HAF, is because if come with tons of fans stock. Stage 3 would just be having DSO take out a couple of the huge fans to replace them with smaller ones.

Completely unneeded.

Just my $.02....I personally like the 850Si Stacker case better. I think it looks better than the new HAF. It is true that you only need Stage 2 cooling in the HAF and its equivalent to Stage 3. If budget is a concern, definately go with the HAF.

as you see haf is the default gaming case for DS because its such a great case, haf in stage 2 is pretty much stage 3.

we have had this discussion before, one of our members who has a 850 and his friend an haf, said that at the end the difference in temp is 3C.

so for the price, airflow, fans, the haf is a great case.

it will save you money on cooling.

I highly recommend the haf

have a better look here:
