I know laptops dont usually support changing processors due to them being built onto the motherboard but i thought id go ahead and ask to be sure. I have a viper laptop and was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the processor on it or if id have to have a whole new motherboard built

I'm unsure on that exact laptop as my experience with DS laptops is minimal. But most laptops don't have soldered cpu's on their motherboards. You see a lot that have the gpu's soldered in, but cpu's not usually unless it's really old. Odd's are you can probably upgrade the cpu, but there are a few key factors.
Sockets are different than on desktops, so make sure you match them up to the T. Also, ensure that the bios for that laptop can support the cpu you want. Laptop motherboards are unlike desktop motherboards. They don't receive the updates desktops do to keep on supporting the newest cpu's. |
