Please help me make a good config to suit my needs. I want a cheap gaming PC that maximizes power/dollar. Needs are described in more detail below.
Budget: $1000 (around $250 is preferably for peripherals) Expectations: At least 60FPS at 1080p on medium settings Usage: Gaming, mostly Overwatch. Special Needs: Would prefer an optical drive. |

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that these are only what I want. You can be a little off of these needs. For example, I'd be fine with a $900 config if it was a significant boost in power. Also, if anyone knows of a good 60hz 2ms monitor, that's what I want for this build. For the other peripherals I'm probably going to Razer because of that awesome RGB, but again, if anyone knows any other good RGB keyboard and mice I'd appreciate you telling me.

For your budget the Vanquish level 1 for $699 is about the only choice here. Luckily, the benches I've seen shows Overwatch runs a solid 60fps with a 1080p on Medium settings. I have no experience, but others seem to have no problem. The Vanquish level 1 also enables you to add a separate video card later on if your gaming needs get more demanding. Hope this helps. |

Agreed. That's a very solid platform for upgrading in the future. Lots of power to add a video card and maybe upgrade your storage later on as well.
There are literally dozens of 24" monitors between 100 and 200 dollars. I looked on Amazon and was overwhelmed. For the best response (1-2ms) you want a TN panel. An IPS panel would be somewhat brighter and provide a much wider viewing angle, but they are not as quick. Personally, I can't perceive any lag at ~6ms on my IPS, but I know that's a big deal for some. Razer makes good stuff. Good luck. |
