the reason everybody goes with the E8xxx is cause it can oc very high, if you are not gonna oc then go with a quad core.

your gpu was fine, but I upgraded it anyways, for a few buck more you could get teh 260 so why not.

but again just my recommendations, at the end you got to go with what you like

Hey DST, I appreciate the feedback. I just have a few Q's

Would it be better to get the 2G of RAM at 1066mhz or stick with 4G at 800mhz?
And for OC, I wasnt planning on getting it OC'ed, but if I do, how much of a difference does it make to the computer?
Oh, one more thing, how upgradeable is this rig? Just wondering and thanks for the help :)

4GB of ram, let me tell you, I have gone from 800 to 1066 in the same system, and the only change I noticed, was the money missing from my bank account.

here is the deal:

ram speed = just that, speed

more ram = able to do multi task more/better

but ram speed is very minimal, nothing you would notice, it comes into play more when you OC.

I assumed you pic the E8xxx chip cause it OCs so high, but its a dual core, if that is not the case then I suggest you go with a quad core.

come to think of it, if you wanna OC go with 4gb of 1066 for best results.

with the OC, and if you get the 4GB of 1066MHz ram, you can expect very high OC speeds, I'm thinking 4.0GHz or higher, but remember its a dual core.

so the difference would be one pc is

E8400, 4GB 1066MHz ram with speed of: 3.0GHz

the other is:

E8400, 4GB 1066MHz ram with OC speed of: 4.0GHz

I'm sure I don't need to tell you that the 4.0GHz is gonna kill the 3.0GHz version.

as far as upgradeable, you can add GPU down the road if that is what you mean, you could also go up to a qx9770 quad core CPU. the HAF can hold 11 drives, so if that is what you mean by upgradeable then there it is. but if you are talking about new generation chip coming out and stuff like that, then that is whole different story. if that is the case then let me know and I will explain about that.

Ok, so your recommending the 2G RAM at 1066 if I dont OC and the 4G if i do?
I heard 32 bit OS doesnt even utilize 4G of ram. If im getting the 4G of ram, should i get a 64 bit OS?
And is my PSU and cooling cooling system ok?
also i should add that im mainly using this rig for high end gaming

i tweaked your config a tiny bit, tell me what you think

bothe of those down the line can have a another gpu added, a veloci raptor added, and they are both quad core.

but if you are stuck on going with E8xxx then just change to 4GB of ram and vista 64bit premium.

any questions you have, fire away

up to you, if you do anything other then gaming go with quad.

the difference between 32bit and 64bit among many things is the fact that a 32bit OS can only recognize total of 4GB of ram, 64bit will see and recognize up to 128GB of total ram. 64bit can calculate faster in certain cases, graphics will be better in 64bit in some cases.

basically, 64bit is the future, till now most 64bit where not user friendly but vista 64 has overcome that
