Hey all -- i made a post on the general discussion forum, and I was hoping to receive a slightly more official / direct answer! I definitely could have been more specific with my inquiry, so I'll do so here:
1. I just received a Bolt X. I was wondering if I can lay the machine on it's side - rather than have it standing up vertically? Would doing so have any adverse effects to the machine's health or longevity? 2. If the Bolt X can be kept horizontal .... is there a specific side I should have on the bottom? E.g. the glass side or the non glass side. Thanks in advance for any feedback, and I put my specs below in the event any components affect the answer(s)! - Andrew System Configuration: Chassis Model: Digital Storm BOLT X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Side Window: Edge to Edge Premium Acrylic Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 (6-Core) 3.20GHz (Not Overclockable) Motherboard: MSI Z370I GAMING PRO CARBON AC (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z370 Chipset) (Mini-ITX) (Up to 1x PCI-E Device) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 750W Lian-Li PE-750 (Platinum Rated) (Supports up to GTX TITAN Xp) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: - No Thanks Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (500GB Samsung 960 EVO) (NVM Express) Storage Set 2: - No Thanks Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H115i - 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance) HydroLux Tubing Style: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected HydroLux Fluid Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a custom HydroLux liquid cooling system selected Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow) Chassis Fans: Standard Black 140mm Fans Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled Internal + Front Panel LED Lighting Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stock Factory Turbo Boost Advanced Automatic Overclocking Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows 10 Installation CD Only (Clean Install with No Drivers) Virus Protection: Windows Defender Antivirus (Built-in to Windows 10) |

The pc should be placed with the open (acrylic) side for viewing whether on its side or standing up
so you can enjoy its innards. If you want an official answer, you will have to contact DS directly. We are only DS users that like to help but do not work for DS. On mine the mobo is upside down so..... ![]() |

Thanks for the replies, all. I appreciate the answers and thanks for clearing up the "official" non official. Just a little new-machine paranoia taking over haha.
