what is the main difference in the intel P33 and the Nvidia 650i. besides not handling sli.

You mean the P35?

The p35 supports Yorkfield whereas Nvidia 650i does not.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

As I understand it the G33 chipset is the same as a P35 chipset, except the G33 comes with integrated graphics.  I also think that it's being geared more towards the HTPC/SFF crowd.  A quick Google search showed me a bunch of mATX boards. 

As SkyR said, the G33 will support the new 45nm processors that have been/will be released.  G33 will also support the new DDR3 standard.
