This may seem very ameture but I was curious as to the most optimal computer desk for space and appearance and even as to the best environment for a quality computer from DSO. Like a good room temperature and what hides wires best or how far away it should be from the wall or ground or monitor. Any opinions or pictures would be great! Also any advice on buying one or designing my own would be helpful. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to reply!

good room temps is 75f or below, your pc should have good amount of room all around, all around, the more room the better.
if you are looking to hide wires and stuff they have all kinds of plastic tubes and etc in different length for that. Edited by DST4ME - 20 Sep 2011 at 1:58pm |

Beyond room temperatures, ample breathing space, and accessibility, its really all up to your personal preferences and the restrictions of the room itself. As DST4ME mentioned there are a lot of ways to hide wires, and ensure adequate airflow. I once had a friend who literally cut a hole in his desk and nailed a box fan over the hole, no, sadly I am not lying
. Do you have any specific desks you were looking at? |

Really anythings sleek or minimalistic, and do I need a fan blowing air which direction to control dust so it doesn't get in the machine? And what is the best way to ensure that DSO computers handle a power surge okay other than a general sure protector? I am hoping to get a great system come Christmas and wanted to setup a great desk ahead of time.

Haha an ODE is what I'm looking into. How long have you had yours? Also, I agree with the desk but it might be too big for my space.

I've had the desk and the ODE 3 for almost 3 months now.
You're right about the desk---it's wider than most. But that's a positive in my book. Perfect for a steel series merc stealth keyboard + plenty of mouse space on the pull out drawer and multiple big monitors on the table top.
Happy desk hunting and enjoy your future ODE!

I love the sleek minimalist look also. I found a very nice 60" writing desk so its big enough to put my tower off the left and keep the pc cool without being under anything.
