Hello. I have a virtue pc with a GTX Titan X graphics card and a i5 4670k @ 4.2. I recently upgraded from at GTX 780 to the Titan X and been having problems with my pc freezing and then completely restarting. This occurs while playing high demand games, the screen will go black and then the whole computer will restart. Could this be an issue with my cpu core voltage? I am currently set to 1.264 in the settings. The issue can happen when my computer is on for twenty minutes or as much as a couple hours.
Thank you, Chase |

If the only change is the new card, I'd first suspect the Titan X. Use HWMonitor to check load temps. Make sure its seated correctly and the power connectors are tight and connected properly.
Reinstall or download and install a different driver from GeForce.com. Put the gtx 780 back in and see if it happens. If not then it could be a bad card. What psu do you have? Even though the Titan X and 780 are spec'd the same, within 20-30 watts in testing, , it's possible the Titan X is drawing more juice. If its a 600watt, then you could be borderline. 600 watt is the minimum. It should be enough but restarts are one sign of a bad or overloaded psu. My guess is the driver or the psu can't take it. Good Luck. ![]() Edited by bprat22 - 10 Jun 2015 at 12:20pm |
