Can anyone who has a recent DS computer comment on the noise levels from the computer? In particular, i am looking at get a computer without liquid cooling.
I've read some reviews outside of this website that complained about the noise levels from the computer.
Thanks,

i have the HAF 932 case with a Noctua cooler, extra memory fans, a corsair 1000w psu and a 275 GPU. I barely hear the thing half the time and if the lights weren't on I'd assume it was off. The review you were likely talking about was with the added fans to the side (which are definitely louder but not overly necessary) or they had t he V8 cooler instead, which gets pretty loud at times.

I purchased my system last March. Noise level has yet to be an issue for me.
I have the HAF 9 case, Cooler Master V8 for the CPU, GTX 285, 1000W PSU.
I can hear the fans running, but it's not a distracting noise level at all.
Noise level is an individual thing, where several factors are involved. A big one is where the case is placed. Mine is on the floor, under the desk. It's still close though, a few inches from my knee. Some people keep their rigs on the desk (desktop, go figure
Also, we are talking about performance machines, not the average PC.
OC'd CPU, high end GPU(s), larger PSUs, etc.
Which means a Mustang 5.0 is gonna be louder than a Corolla. Well, that's not a totally accurate comparison to my old PC. Performance level difference, yes. Noise level difference, no.

I too read a review about noise. This noise came from the side mounted fan. This fan is an option available only on the 950si Case. The reviewer went on to say he didn't think the extra fan was needed. |

that might be one system, on all systems 90% of the noise comes from your gpu fans. |

We use to run the fans at higher speeds, until many people were unhappy with the noise levels. So, we reduced them. If you really want a quiet computer system, just make sure you mention this when you place your order, and our techs will make sure its configured to meet that requirement. |
