This is starting to get annoying.
I received the computer back from Digital Storm about a week ago due to faulty memory (have only been able to use computer this weekend due to travel for work). My system will randomly shut off while I am using my computer (regardless of game, web browsing, etc...). I re-seated all components and check all connections to be sure there were no issues with that. It is not a heat issue (because with HWMonitor open my temps are way below any critical point). The power cord is plugged in properly and the only power being drawn from the outlet is the monitor and the computer. Could it be a Realtek Driver issue? In the Event Viewer it is listed as Kernel-Power EventID 41 Task Category (63). Edited by TIMoteo87 - 14 Apr 2012 at 2:41pm |

Hi Timoteo87......sorry to hear of more problems. It could be so many things. If it was me I would just run with one ram stick at a time. I think you have sli 570, but could be wrong....try running just one gpu at a time in top pci slot. All we,re doing is trying to isolate the problem. If a ram stick or gpu is the problem DS could send you a new one instead of sending it back again. Only run with a basic mouse/ keyboard plugged in....nothing else external except monitor. If you installed anything in the last day or two do a System Restore. It is tough to tell. That kernal fault could be the system not shutting down properly because of the crash.

I have SLI 680.
I run with a basic mouse and keyboard. I'm really getting tired of taking apart the computer and putting it back together in order to find the issue. I paid a lot of money for Digital Storm to build me a working computer (when I could have built it myself and have in the past). It is not a blue screen issue. I have installed nothing new. It seems as though it just loses power. PSU could be shot. The Kernel-Power is due to it just flipping off. I am hoping it is the driver issue. |

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 2028504
"I am hoping it is the driver issue." Probably not, think power supply. "PSU could be shot." . . . or defective at any rate. J. Edited by jseidel - 14 Apr 2012 at 7:10pm |

Sorry to hear about that. What surprises me is that we do extensively test all of the systems, such as PSU stress test where we stress the GPUs, CPU, memory, and HDDs all at the same time.
It may be two reasons: 1. The system may be overheating, could you take a screen shot of Hardware Monitor running so we can see your temps? (Download link: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.19-setup.exe) 2. The system isn't getting enough power, can you try plugging it into a wall outlet directly without any surge protector/etc? P.S. I'll be moving this to the "Technical Assistance" section shortly.
