Hello,

Well for my first post this is kind of depressing. I've owned my digital storm computer for 4 months now and had no issues until last night. Going to turn it on, it will run for a second and then immediatly turn off. Only after cycling the power supply switch will it recreate the issue. Even if I plug directly into the wall the same issues happen. I haven't done any diagnosis on it yet due to having no time/work but has anybody seen this issue? On my video card there is a little white light that has always been lit. Even after the issue it still stays lit. I'm confused... Any ideas?

These are my computer specs

I would open the left side panel, PC unplugged, and reseat all the connections from the power supply, especially the 24 pin and 8 pin connectors to the motherboard. Could've been loose and eventually got worse.

Reseat the ram sticks.

Reseat the graphics card and its power connectors.

If still an issue, try one ram stick at a time. Also try removing the graphics card and see if it powers up.

Sounds like a short or loose connection simulating a short.

Unplug anything plugged into the USB ports. A bad external device can cause it.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Your specs don't list any CPU overclock? If it is over clocked, like stage 1 , then go into Bios and load defaults, f5, and save, f10, to drop the overclock.   It isn't unusual for a system with oc to turn on, a second later turn off and then turn on and stay on. It's called double boot and mine has done it for 4 years once a week or so.

Keep us posted.

Mine wont even turn on. I can cycle the power supply but it just turns on for a second and turns back off. Also nothing was altered and plug was never removed while computer was on. and no I didn't opt for over locking.

It won't stay on for more then 1 second. If I don't cycle the power supply; the computer won't come back on until I do.

Then it wouldn't be the overclock I mentioned .     Try the reseating , etc and hopefully it's just a bad connection.

It could be a bad power supply, it's voltages not coming up quick enough, but check the other stuff first.

Disconnected everything short of the cooler and processor. Still same symptoms. Not sure what it could be now.

My guess is the power supply.   There is a paper clip check you can try.   Basically, unplug the psu from AC, unplug everything from the psu like mobo, drives, grab the 24 pin mobo cable coming from the supply and bend into a U shape and insert a paper clip into pins 15 and 16.   Double check the pins but it will be the green wire and the black on either side.   Turn back on and see if the psu fan turns on.   If not, a bad psu.   If it does turn on it could still be a bad psu, because this test doesn't check a box under load. You could keep a fan or internal lights plugged in to give it some load.

Could be the motherboard.

You removed the graphics card and unplugged the drives ?

I'd call DS. Real time checks over the phone are better than sporadic forum help.

Best of luck and let us know.
