Hi guys. I'd like to take advantage of the knowledge here before I place my order. I'm not going to be doing anything fancy or monkeying with things myself. Figure you guys can do that better and safer than I can.
Here's the config I am looking at. Running a 24 inch monitor at 1920x1080 (chopped out the blanks) Chassis Model: Cooler Master HAF 932 (Black OPS Edition) Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: EVGA X58 Micro Edition SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports SLI or CrossFire) System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 750W Digital Storm Certified (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition Recommended) Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Seagate/Hitachi/Western Digital (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed) Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB Sound Card: Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional (PCI-Express Slot Based) Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler (Compatible With ONLY i7 Processors) Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Boost Processor: FREE: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Requires Air Cooling Upgrade) Boost Video Card: FREE: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: FREE: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) I read the suggestions about picking up a SSD later and moving that into the HDD1 slot. Do the upgraded chassis fans make a lot of difference? I dont think I'm pushing any edges here, but you probably know better. Thanks for the advice! |

upgraded fans are not needed and loud.

Thanks DST4ME. Just needed to make one crucial change.
You see, I live in Lexington Ky. We are not allowed to display any red colors here! At least orange was not an option. Go Cats! Edited by Tamshin - 03 Mar 2010 at 4:30pm |

well then hold on, you need to ask DS to change the front led fan to a blue one here, make sure you request that one or change it your self, otherwise they will place a loud 140mm led fan in place of it. THe stock front 230mm fan is red led.
