Thanks in advance for the advice.

Resolution at least 1920X1200 (looking at getting a monitor poss 28-30" )
Monitor suggestions would be great as well.
Budget <$7000
Will be using for gaming, work, spreadsheets, internet.
Using old keyboard and mouse Logitech MX 5500.

With a budget like that we can get a killer system going. How religious do you want to be with your money...are you looking for all around decent parts for a good machine or do you want to go all out?

Let's start from the top and work our way down.  They will probably recommend the classified EVGA MB, 6 GB ram, the Corsair 1000 PS.  The rest looks sweet to me.  You're going to be very happyOuch

over your budget but at least I got rid of the crap that didn't make any difference what so ever like 12GB of ram.

If you ask me, you should go with a 920, for gaming you won't see any difference from the 980x

Alright guys.  Pulled the trigger.  Can't wait for the system to arrive.   Also took DST4ME's advice and went for the Dell 30" monitor as well.

I did have one question:  How much difference does a TRIM compatible SSD make vs one that doesn't have TRIM?

Thanks.

trim will help keep your ssds performance level, this way you won't see performance loss, however there are other ways of returning a ssd to its first day performance level.

you gonna love that monitor, I have my eyes on it, but I might wait for the next gen, not sure yet.

Congrats Let the torture begin
