Just to fill in some info.  Currently deployed and wanted to spend some of my cash to upgrade my 5 year old computer which has seen better days (so old I still have a AGP graphics card.)  This being said I still have about a month until I get home and actually buy my DS computer.  So if there any up and coming upgrades I should wait on that you experts known about please feel free to fill me in.

I have been watching the forums and hitting up random spec websites to gather some intel over the past month and decided to throw my build on the forums to see if there are any expert tweeks I could do.

Plan on upgrading my old box monitor and finally getting a flat screen one as shown in the build.  My budget is around the 2.5k - 3k range and currently I am only playing WoW.  I do plan on going with SC2 and D3 once they go live but for the most part I am stuck with console games for the other gaming genres due to friends not liking computers.  I was looking for a computer that would hold it's own for the next 3-4 years until I upgrade again.

Couple of questions before I finish this off.

I noticed that for almost the same price I can get SLI 9800GTX and from what I have read they typically outmatch the 280 on a regular basis.  Should I dive in and make this upgrade or just ride it out with one GPU?

I was also looking at liquid cooling earlyer in the month before I did alot of research.  From what I read air cooling still is a good way to go if you don't mind the noise (which I don't) but I was wondering what kind of maintence does liquid cooling involve?  Obviosly you have to replace the liquid that it uses, but is this just normal liquid you can find at a store or is it something you have to specialty buy and replace monthly?

Would it help me to upgrade to the 10k RPM HD's or should I just stick with the one I have?  And will there be a big difference between 2k ram and 4k ram if I were to upgrade that as well?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Edit...

Before I forget, the monitor is not part of my 3k budget.

Harley is right on that one and 320 Gig these days is getting small as an only hard drive.

I would say two drives, and your game drive you may want to jack to at least 500 Gig to allow you room.

Your OS could be smaller... as all you should ever be putting there is windows and windows utilities and your swap file.

Ok, so looked at adding the hard drives like you guys suggested.  Going to go with a 150GB raptor for the main and 500GB for the backup.

Would it help if I dropped down to the 260 instead of the 280 and upped the power supply?  I have read that upgrading power supplies is a pain and figured it would be easyer to do SLI 260 if I ever needed a upgrade.

Not to mention the 280 seems to damn expensive Dead

ATI is great for picture quality and budget minded people. Nivida is great for pure power and non budget minded/ego driven people.
