Hey all,
Im looking at getting a computer that can handle games well and be readily upgradable. I chose a small built in HDD because im going to store most things on a portable HDD I keep with the computer. I can get RAM and GFX cards on the cheap through my work, so I downgraded those in order to save on costs. I have two questions regarding this configuration though. One, given the MB, what Hz RAM can I get that will give me the best performance but not be faster than the MB can really use. And secondly, what is your guys personal opinion between stepping up from an 8800GTS to the GTX? Any and all help would be really appreciated, and if you have anyways to further alter the configuration for the smoothest (and quickest) operation of this rig please let me know. Thanks. IM trying to keep things as close to about $1100 as possible, but am open to ideas that may cost more but would be a good improvement. I'll keep the crashed HDD in mind, thanks.
