Hello All, Finally got my refund from ibuypower and I'm ready to get my DS system!! WHOO!! Here's what I'm looking at. Its a little bit over my budget but i think I can manage. I plan to game at 1900 x 1200 res. Also I would like to eventually throw in another 4870x2. Maybe when the prices come down. Does anybody know if personal upgrades void the warranty on the rest of the system? |

adding GPUs and HDDs will not void warranty. |

So you would take the evga board over the asus? I wasn't sure which one to take. Also, with liquid cooling I saw something about the possibility of maintenance after a year or two, what is that about?

The evga mobo has a good track record and has very good reivews. As for the maintenance for the liquid cooling; every now and then you will need to check the tank and refill with liquid.

Is that something I could safely do myself or will I have to send it back? I live in PA, so its like $100 to ship one-way to CA.

It is pretty easy to do yourself, you just buy some of the fluid and then fill it yourself. With the HAF case I think that the tank is in the drive bays so you pop open the side of the case and fill up the tank.

yes evga for sure, and as mentioned you have to check your fluid level once a month and if it a bit low then you can just add a bit to it, the process is very simple. |

Well my budget is less than 3k.. more like 2800, so I think what I will do is back the HD down to 150gig 10,000 rpm. I have an external drive that I can use for media for now. I would like to get a solid state drive when prices come down a little bit anyway. I think I'll also just use a regular keyboard for now. That brings the price down to $3,003.00 and then i'll get the$175 off, which brings me to $2828.00. Do these prices include tax? Is there anything else applied once I check out?

if you don't live in California then no tax and no I don't' believe there is any other fees, but then again this question is best answered by a DS employee.
I think you changes are great ideas and will not impact performance Edited by DST4ME - 19 Jan 2009 at 10:08pm |
