At that price point, why not go with an Ode 1? That config has some pretty confusing choices in it. A 500 GB Solid state drive and you're cost sensitive?
The Ode 1 has just been updated, its now a GTX 570 and an i7 for 1500ish and I think would work great for you. |

That's not an actual SSD, it's a hybrid, and should be avoided. It is a 500GB standard HDD paired with 4GB of flash memory to use as a buffer.

Go with the Intel 320 series. The size you go with will depend on you budget and other hardware.

I'm positive the ode will blow your configuration out of the water.
I'm not exactly sure what an SSD has to do with day trading(I've worked extensively on a flash/algo/quant trading desk and, when I'm not subject to prop trading a significant amount of my own trading, tho i do stay away from the heavy model dependency on personal finance), but you will be better served by an ode 2 than your current configuration. Adding an SSD to an Ode takes ~30 minutes and costs around 170 dollars for a 120GB. This brings the cost under 1700 dollars, has a real SSD, and has superior components to your stuff, for less cost. Without knowing your specific needs, for gaming 8 gigs is more than enough. I've never hit a memory limitation on any game with 8 gigs. I'll let the real PC guys come in here and give you the technical reasons, I can only tell you what I've learned from my own experience and research. |

Hi zz... for your budget, $1700 and no more, this is the best I could do and I'll explain ...
Config # 655309 Cost $1706 Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 (Intel Z68 Chipset) (Features Intel Quick Sync Technology) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 800W Corsair GS (Dual SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (500GB Seagate Barracuda (7200 RPM) (16MB Cache) (Model: ST500DM002) Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB (PhysX Technology) (Overclocked EVGA Edition) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires Pro or Deluxe Series Motherboard) Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty I'll compare this to ODE #1 ODE 1 has a better cpu, the i7-2600k and better gpu, the gtx 570. Both are highly recommended. This build to come in line with your budget AND you needed a SSD installed with it, I dropped to i5-2500k and gtx 560. You gained the 120GB SSD, a second drive (HDD), a better mobo for oc'ing, a better power supply, 600W vs 800W, and overclocking to stage 2. The case doesn't have the cooling of the HafX but does have front and top 200mm fans and a rear 120mm fan for decent flow through cooling, similar to the ODE lineup. The Storm Enforcer is smaller case but still good. The ODE 1 does give you better gaming but this build gives you your SSD, and and some better parts. I have the i5-2500k and gtx 560 and I can play BF3 for example at high settings smooth but can't Max out games on my 23" monitor I think you're better off going to the ODE #1 and just adding your own SSD. You can clone your HDD to new SSD when installed. You'll end up paying the same $$$ and have the better cpu and gpu. But ,as always, your call. Good Luck
