Well I have a few questions, well many. I'm debating on whether to buy now or wait until Fermi is released.

I'm wanting to get a new monitor/keyboard/mouse because the system I have now is 4+ years old. I'm looking at 1900x1200 resolution, probably will end up getting that Dell ultrasharp.

Budget is around $3500, a few questions. Liquid cooling for the cpu, I need to know honest opinions if its better or about the same as the air cooling offered here?

Case: Hailstorm or HAF? Is one better for liquid cooling or air? Pretty much should I wait until Nvidia comes out with dx11 cards or go with ATI. I'm leaning towards Nvidia because of driver support.

Really is it worth getting the dual loop cpu+gpu cooling. I do live in MN but the room I have my computer in can get a little toasty because I have it up very high, hot air rises ><. Now im rambling i'll have a few more questions im sure of it in a little bit after I do some more research.

stage 3 lc is better, but you don't need it, the Noctua will do a great job.

if you lc the cpu/gpu, then hailstorm has more room.

for air system teh haf is great.

for your res ati will do great, but if you want to wait for the fermi you can, both companies have had driver problems in the past.

if you have a hot room LC can't help you much since the hot air will be blowing thru the rad's fans.

Good deal, the temp thing had me worried a bit because i have my computer like 5 inches from the ceiling ><. This means I can go all out on a monitor and not feel bad :)
Another question I have is a SSD, right now they are kinda spendy but I guess I can always add one later when the prices go down (hopefully).

As far as the air cooler what is the difference between the D12 and D14? Haha bigger is better! I just really need something that will last for peace of mind. Im not tech savy and I just like to play my games and of course surf the internet.

Thanks DST4ME for that quick reply! Cookies for you

The D14 fans are huge but they supposively perform very well. If your worried about temps go with the D14 its well worth the money.

You can read up on them here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018&Tpk=noctua%20d14

If you're looking to spend a little more you can always upgrade your harddrive to something faster and raid or grab the Corsair 256gb SSD for a decent price.

I hear that monitor is awesome though so if you can spend the money get it ;p

Well im just glad I didn't blow money on LC if its not going to help much, ive been saving up for quite a while. And I was a little worried about maintenance with LC, im pretty lazy to be honest and I just don't feel comfortable tinkering around inside the CPU.
I just need something that has an extra pci slot for a wireless card and has the option of doing SLI or CF.  Now the mobo on the config that was posted, the D14 will fit in that?

Wait for Nvidia or go ATI?  That is a tough call.  I am a little bugged by the delays for the Fermi based cards, but you might not be.  The way I am handling it is that I am running more than one PC at home and I have one reserverd for Nvidia's bad boys.  But regarding ATI drivers, I am running a 5850 with no issues ATM.  However, I see nothing wrong with having a favorite.  I mean it is your money.  So, if you heart is set on a Fermi then pick an interim card that you can live with.  I am using a 260 216 OC until the big day.  But I just can see holding up my entire system waiting for Nvidia roll out the Fermi based card.  Your budget is big enough to do that.

don't expect Fermi to have good availability  till May-June, at least, the GTX 480 anyways.

myself I have been waiting for this Fermi to, but it looks like a 2Gb 5870 x3 is going to be the way I am going to go or a 4Gb 5970, and a 2Gb 5870 for tri fire will be a better option for me.

Yeah I'm probably going to wait until Fermi has been out a while. The computer im using now is a Pentium D 3.0. 2g ram @667 and 2x 7800 GT's. Mainly playing the total war series which i just love strategy games.

In the meantime though I will go ahead and buy a nice keyboard/mouse and pull the trigger on that dell ultrasharp. I just hope the gtx 480 will be something worth waiting for.. i'll be a little ticked if its not much better than a 5870 :(

well I'm thinking worst case scenario, it will bring the prices of the ati cards down, and that will help whoever that wants go go ati, but I'm an nvidia fan so I want it to kick-ass but we just have to wait and see, too many bs rumors going around right now.
