Hi everyone, I have a configuration question for everyone here.  I set my budget around 2k and this is what I came up with.  As you can see I went almost 300 dollars over but it has all the basic features I wanted.

Those being the new I7 processor, 6GB ram and a very good video card.   I think I have adequate cooling based on the pre-config models, and enough power for the system with 750 watts.  Being 300 dollars over my budget can anyone point out anything I missed?

Thanks,
John

Another question, should I go down to 3gb of ram and get the 285 video card?

I am very much inclined to stay with 6gb based on this review at Toms Hardware on 3gb vs 6gb of ram

To be honest with I didn't even look at the link you provided, I advise you to go with my system and add another 260+ if you can, if not then add another 260+ down the road.

I can tell you with todays games and apps more ram then before is good however 4GB would be plenty, the only reason we talk about 6GB with i7 is because this platform does not move in 2GB increments, it moves in 3GB increments, so the next step after 3GB is 6GB, if 4GB worked just as well as 6 then we would have advised 4GB

you put a 285 in there with 750w PSU and you can forget about upgrading cause your PSU won't be able to handle it.
