Drop the memory back to 1600mhz you won't see the speed of the other one

Yep, drop the ram speed. The rest looks real nice.
For the same money you could go with the ODE level 4 and have sli, 2x gtx670, which is alot more performance than single gtx 680. Just a thought.

Thanks for the advice, I will drop the RAM speed as suggested. As for the single GTX 680 I'm planning to buy another one to have SLI (sometime in the near future)

Sounds like a beast.
I would, however, go with the 1050HX psu. The 680 classifieds have 2x 8pin power plugs because of the juice they can use. 375watts per card isn't unusual if any oc'ing is done. Also, the 550D case is real nice and quiet, but, again, a sli 680 classifieds do generate more heat and the closed 550D might cause a thermal issue if the cards get starved for cool air. DS would know for sure so best check with them. Of course the case can be modded with more fans if needed but then the quiet disappears. Good luck.

Looks good to me.
For tops in dependability, the Hyper 212 air cooler would work great but the Vortex takes less space and works. I like dependability when possible but that's me from decades of service. As-is it is a real nice rig. Black Friday deal saves you shipping maybe and another 2 years of warranty. What a deal. Best of luck Edited by bprat22 - 22 Nov 2012 at 11:06am |
