280/260 cannot support dx11/dx10.1

4870x supports dx10.1

That would be a shocker Wink

I know for sure that 280/260 cannot support dx10.1 which renders stuff a little differently and more efficiently, so unless they are not going to mimic dx10.1 in some way then yes, but i dont see it happening.

PS: IT'S NOMAK

ati right now does dx 10.1

nvidia has decided to pass 10.1 and wait for dx 11.0 which due out in 2009.

the current ati cards that support 10.1 will not have support for 11.0

... and yet game programmers aren't making a mad dash to jump on the dx 10.1 bandwagon... who's going to push for dx.11.0? Seems that unless 11.0 has some significant offerings in graphics, many game manufacturers will once again stick to dx9 and dx10. My crystal ball sez that microsoft should take dx 11 and cram it up where the sun don't shine... and do some real improvements before selling their eWares. LOL!
