I have been reading this forum for a while. Income tax return coming in a few weeks so I thought I would splurge for a new computer. I have a friend who is a gamer, met a few more friends of his, seen their systems, fell in love with the DS systems. LOL. I am a newbeeee to this forum.
Budget: No more than $3000 UNLESS for a great reason Expectations: Upgrade my Dell XPS and take me into the future. I am a family man, so my gaming experience will grow (three boys) but for now mostly a traditional Dell type computer. Usage: Right now about 85% web surfing, photos, a little business, school. My wife and oldest son are from Ukraine (speak Russian) like downloading movies from Russian web sites and watching. My middle son likes using the computer for educational learning, some elementary school games, and of course watching his favorite cartoons and movies. 15% is playing games but I can sense that percentage will increase in the coming months and year. Would like to have the proper hardware to make this happen. Won't be hardcore gamer (time wise) but like to have the system when we do play. Special Needs: Have several Samsung large screens in house. Would be nice if we could watch russian movie on one (wife), do homework on another Samsung monitor/TV screen, and do my gaming/work on a third monitor. Do I need three computers or can the DS computer multi task? Hi RadarRick.....Your build is almost right -on.
Change 2133Mhz RAM to 1600 MHZ..no difference you'll see For gaming 8GB is all you need. D14 is a great cooler but if you want ot save a bit change to A70 which is a little more noisy but not by much is my understanding. Your build allows you to go sli in the future. sli is 2 graphic cards Config # 652511 Cost $3072 Without MS Office the rig itself does stay under $3000. I know nothing about hooking up multiple monitors so hopefully someone else will chime in. Good Luck
