What do you guys think of my specs, as this is what I could get for $3,575.00... And given I live in the SoCal area, would shipping be cheap? I'm also mostly debating on whether I should get a 1050 watt power supply over an 800 watt PSU as I am overclocking the graphics cards myself.

Good build but you don't need DS to disable and tweak the OS because it comes in bloat free and you won't ever know what they disabled until you want to use something and its not there especially since you are getting windows professional.

The 690 i believe is actually dual cards and not just one card and i heard if something happens to one card i believe you have to replace both instead of just one. So i think you should probably get a 670, 680 or maybe even a newer card that came out.

Others will be on later to chime in.

I would stick with the 1050HX if you plan on adding another card.  Otherwise, the 800W would be fine, but the HX has a longer warranty and gives plenty of headroom.

A couple of things about the gtx 690....  It's an awesome card but it's a dual gpu card, with dual heat sinks and a fan mounted in the middle.  Half the heat goes out the back and the other half into the case.  Luckily, the HafX has great airflow, but just so you know.  Also, being a dual gpu card, the advertised 4GB vram is false in the sense that most think.  Each of the 2 gpu have 2gb vram, for a total of 4gb vram, but in sli, which the 690 is, vram doesn't stack,  So. really a 2gb vram for rendering since in sli each card mirror the same info.

Even though the gtx 690 is more powerful, I myself would get the gtx 780.  True 3gb vram, better scaling for games that don't like sli, and if needed, adding another would be cheaper than another 690 and work great.

You might not need the added USB card.  The mobo has 4x usb 2.0 and 4x usb 3.0 on back I/o and the Hafx has 2 of each on the front.

That is a nice build, so either way, you have a powerful rig there.  Big%20Smile
