Hello,
I bought my first Digital Storm PC back in 2013, the original Bolt I guess? Anyway, Its 2020 now and I'm looking to upgrade. I've always stuck by Intel, but I think I'd rather go with AMD with time and push the Ryzen 9 3900X. Games : COD, League of Legends, WoW, and Random other stuff. Streaming to Twitch. Is this the build for me? Thoughts, tweaks, all appreciated! Thanks guys! The Ryzen 9 is overkill for what you want. The 3800x will perform just as well across the board, and save $139.
Get the Seagate Firecuda 500 GB PCIe 4 NVMe SSd for primary drive. AMD 570 chipsets support PCIe 4 and it's up to 5 times faster than the DS SATA SSD. No budget, no monitor specs makes it harder to advise, but the pairing of an overkill proc with a 1080p GPU is not typical. The 2060 will stream just fine, however. I don't recommend you overclock the GPU, but if you think you need it, be prepared to hear your fans a lot more. Don't ""tweak the operating system". It's a throwback to olden times when system RAM was tiny. Hope it helps. Oh yeah, the "Velox disclaimer"! The window is on the right side, so to display the innards the mobo and its attachments are upside down. Also, I believe the window side is all glass now. Edited by Cretae - 13 May 2020 at 6:49am |

I agree with Cretae comments. He has a strong understanding of the performance criteria of PC hardware and configuration. Just to give you a bit more consideration, if you will be doing any video editing/rendering, you might want to stay with the 3900X or upgrade to the 3950X (if you have the budget for it). Now with respect to the graphics card, your monitor will be key in choosing your graphics card as Cretae stated.
I also bought a Velox with similar specs as you. I will post the specs for you to see. My PC will not only be used for gaming, but video rendering and CAD files. I will have a secondary NVMe for storage of design files and videos. I am most likely going to get a NAS for my home network to store my files. My PC arrives today. My monitor is the LG 38GL950G (Still in the box). I have been following the delivery driver on the UPS map. He should be here in an hour. I will post an update when I actually setup the PC (most likely this weekend). Good luck to you and I hope you will be happy with your new build. Update: I just received my PC not 10 minutes after I posted. :-) I am so tempted to open it now. Maybe I can take a break from work to just get a sneak peek into the box. :-)
