Topic: CONFUSING AVENTUM 3 CASE MODS Posted: 05 Jan 2017 at 7:06am |
Hey Guys! I'm new here and I'm planning to buy my second custom pc here in DS (My first builds from Maingeat). I'm really doing a tons of research of what specific pc will I choose. I'm thinking a BLUE LED level 1 Aventum 3 around 3k$ (Or if its worth it, I'm thinking level 2 around 5K$) But I came across in these two Pics in the internet AND IT REALLY GOT ME CONFUSED!!
The first pics here: The second ones here: Obviously, you can see in the First Pic that the front of the case has hole grilles and the second one has no grilles (WHICH i prefer)..My question is: Is it have something to do with the option in the configurator "Fan Blow-Holes: CPU & Graphics Card Area: Laser Cut and Mount (2x) Side Window Fans" And which option I must choose if i want my Custom pc to look like the second one (Without the grilles) Hoping for a reply ASAP 'cause I'm expecting my budget to come around 2 week of jan So I can order much earlier!! Thanks in advance and I hope to receive a reply from one of the DS employees! Have a nice day! ;) Removed competitor name. Edited by D Poet - 05 Jan 2017 at 8:09am |

Greetings D Poet and welcome to the DS forums.
I am certain that one of the Aventum owners, other knowledgeable configuration gurus or even Alex from DS will be along shortly. There is also the option to speak with a live representative (Brian) about DS and their machines. I hope you find exactly what you're looking for in a computer. |

Hi D Poet,
The top picture with the screen front is an older model. The second picture is a newer model. I think the second picture is the currant style and you don't have to specify any special options to get that front. I can see in the second picture that they are using the latest setup on the ridged LC tubing with connectors to make the 90 degree bends. You can see in the first picture that they bent the tubing. The bent tubing is the old method and not used today. Frank |

Oh, But FrankW they're just the same Aventum 3 right? and the first picture is an old model, like what you said.. Or maybe the first pics not aventum 3 and just other model, idk. Maybe i'm mistaken. |

The top pic shows the front cover removed to showcase the front fans and the bottom pic is with the cover on, with the sides having the "hidden" intake holes.
Both Aventum 3. Edited by bprat22 - 05 Jan 2017 at 8:41am |

Also, what level Aventum you pick depends on the monitors you'll be using and what the rig is for. Plus, each level is just a default setup for that price and all can be tweaked in the config to get whatever you want.
What its for and what resolutions are you using ? |

Wow thanks! now I understand that Its just a front cover. I'm planning to get the level 1 and tweak some options for better aesthetics like exotic colored sleeve cables and get some corsair fans :D BTW. what do you mean resolution?? |

Is the monitor a 1920x1080, 2560x1440p or 4K ? Makes all the difference in what graphics card to get.

I already pre-ordered a LG 40" 4K UHD in amazon.. A dual SLI of GeForce GTX 1070 8GB (ASUS ROG STRIX) will do right?? Just for casual gaming.. |

Yep, sli 1070 will do it.
The gtx 1080Ti is suppose to drop this month and, even though the sli 1070 will probably be stronger, the single 1080 ti Might be close enough to stay away from sli. Won't know until its released however. Sli 1070 will play real nice. |

Our pleasure. That's different, not being a fan of single card. Most want single over sli for scaling, some games, etc, but everyone to their own. Gotta do what works for you. fixed broken quote Edited by Snaike - 06 Jan 2017 at 12:29am |

I think that the top pic was for a model they prepared to show off the front fans. The cover was perforated for show. The Aventum has a solid front cover, although the perforated one would not be a bad option imo. I also prefer the bent tubes, instead of the fittings everywhere there is a bend, for looks. The soft tubing is the best for working inside the case like when cleaning and flushing, if on liquid. Edited by hoserator - 05 Jan 2017 at 1:21pm |
