wait a bit new GPUs are coming out which should drop the prices on current GPUs.
for that resolution to play at high settings you need 2 GPUs, but your price is not letting us do that. I can config a dual core or an old quad core, but this PC can be upgraded to be more powerful and you can update to the next round of CPU down the road, tell me what you think, remember the price should be a bit lower when the new GPUs come out. here you go Ticket# 221225 --- Price: $2094 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Cooler Master HAF 932 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Interior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports Dual SLI or CrossFire) System Memory: 3GB DDR3 1333MHz Corsair Dominator DHX (High-Performance) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition) Card Reader: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260+ 896MB (216 Streams) (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Cooler Master V8 (Compatible With i7 Processors) Liquid Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a H20: Stage 3 Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Yes, Overclock the processor as much as possible with complete stability Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Tweak Windows: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) (For Enthusiasts) Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks LCD Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty now remember you get an additional $100 of the price listed above right now due to the special they have going. upgrades down the road can be adding another 3GB of ram, upgrading HDD to veloci raptor, adding a second 260+ gtx, etc. Edited by DST4ME - 28 Dec 2008 at 12:56pm |

Okay so i should go with the new I7? I like this build and was just worried about getting too far ahead of games.
Thank you very much for the configuration ideas. I would love to have something like this. The other thought i had was water cooling. It seems like the i7's run hot and get more from water cooling or is that something i would never need?
I dont think i want to watercool the gpu's but i thought about WC for the cpu to help overclock it?
Never had a watercooled rig before is that a lot of work?
Sorry for all the questions. Thank s in advance for any help.

I would go with an I7 setup because you will have to get a x58 mobo and that will in turn give you upgradeability.
As for getting ahead of games i wouldn't worry about that, it just future proofs your system even more.
The I7 is fine with air, infact ive seen alot of people hit 3.6-4.0 stable on air.
Liquid cooling is great and sometimes leads to higher oc's, however you must add liquid every 3-5 years.

LC is great IMO, but the stage 2 air is doing great here also. personally I prefer LC but you need to decide for yourself. but if you do choose LC then do the cpu only. LC is no work, once every month or two you may need to put a bit of liquid in there, which is very easy. other then that, every 3 to 5 years you might want to change the liquid. You are very welcome and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. Edited by DST4ME - 28 Dec 2008 at 5:19pm |
