So anyone have any thoughts on this new case and if it will be a competitor to the much loved HAF X?

We're planning to feature this model. The HAF X is great but it's getting old and will be replaced sooner or later by our team.

I kind of hope they decide to update the HAF X. Maybe make it full aluminum or give the case some much-needed BAM. But the cosmos is lookin might fine.

I will take function and performance over flashy looks any day. There is definitely room for improvement with the HAF X. All quick-releases and not more thumb screws. Better designed HDD cage and the option to remove the bottom half of that cage if it's not need with an open vent underneath so you can install more fans or a radiator in that spot.
Do all that and make the fan grills easier to take off for cleaning and the HAF X would be just about perfect. A nicer looking front panel wouldn't hurt but again I'd take those other changes first. |

After all this time and no fan over gpus, I think the haf x will eat this up in airflow, tho I know this is a little better quality case, its airflow is not up to par with haf.

From reading the specs you can install a couple 120mm fans on to that vent on the left side. But small/loud fans fail any day of the week. This case seems to use a lot of the, only a single 120mm top exhaust fan stock with option for up to x 3 120, x2 140 or only x1 200. Then the pointless optional 120mm HDD fans.
The case will be loud and move less air the the HAF X. It looks nice but that's what you choose with that case, looks and not performance. |
