OK. I am running Nvidia sys monitor, OCCT, Real Temp 2.70 and speedfan 4.35, For these examples I am looking at Core 1 temps for comparison
The Nvidia monitor gives me 47 C at idle,
OCCT, 40 C
Real Temp , 37 and
Speed Fan is at 39 C.
I would think that the NVidia Sys monitor would be the correct one but it is so very different..
Room Temp is 21 C, Chassis temp ( Silverstone ESA Probe ) is 22 C and the CPU radiator measures 26 C . The CPU is a Q9650 at 4.2 Ghz. Dual LC. The Bios gives me a CPU temp of 47 C.
Which do I believe?

For your processor (or any 45nm quad), make sure whatever CPU temperature monitor you are running is set to a TJMax value of 95 and you will get a reasonably accurate reading.
Software temperature monitoring is not an exact science - you will still get small variances between the tools which is normal.
