I'm curious if anyone in the forum can corroborate something told to me today by a DS customer service rep. regarding an ssd firmware update for corsair.

I had requested that DS please apply the latest corsair firmware to my SSD before building the rig (with no other reason than saving me the hassle of doing later). According to the corsair web site and forums this was released on or about 12/15/09 and allows the p256 drives (among others of their various ssd's) to be trim compatible.
I was informed tonight that DS would first need to send me an email that I must review, sign and then return stating that I accept and understand that applying the firmware would void the warranty because they (corsair) were recommending against this. I cannot corroborate this information anywhere with corsair and thought(after I was done with the conversation unfortunately) maybe he was confusing the corsair firmware update with the intel update earlier in 2009 that caused so many problems with their ssd drives. I told him to forget the firmware and to just proceed with the build as is, but after going back to the corsair site to see if I am missing something, I remain perplexed as to where this info came from and why it is being propagated. I don't particularly care because I am putting the ssd's in raid and as such can't yet take advantage of trim while the ssd's are in a raid array, but I am curious as to what gives; particularly because the corsair forums appear to suggest that the firmware (version VBM19C1Q to be precise)is working just fine.
I would be most interested in hearing from a DS representative on this just as a point of clarification.
Please understand that I am not mad, frustrated or in any other way "put out"; just want to get my facts straight.
