Curious what this CorsairLink2 software is installed for. Was it there for just monitoring or is it doing something to the system? Or can I uninstall it?

You can use it to setup fan profiles to adjust fan speeds for noise, use it to monitor heat, etc.     I'm not sure if DS actually used it for adjusting fan speeds but it can be un-installed.    Email DS just to see if they used it or just installed it for your convenience.
