is it really worth it to LC both the CPU and the GPU? how far can you OC the GPU while having it LC'd?

I would NOT LC the GPU only the CPU. If your buying a system from DS then you would need to send the system back anytime you want work done on the video system.
Unless of course your comfortable with how to install and maintain the LC on GPU yourself. |

I don't think its worth it, it can hinder future GPU upgrades also.

I wouldn't LC the GPU. Keep in mind that a faster GPU will always be available within the next 6 to 12 months. If you have an air cooled GPU then you can just swap it in yourself.

LC the Gpu(s) is more of a luxury than anything. It removes the awful sound of the graphics card(s) fan, cuts the temp of the card(s) in half, so higher OC's are usually possible. But it is very costly, and graphics cards are the first item to be outdated in a gaming PC. It took me 7 hours, and $640.00 to put my three cards under water, and for me, yes it was worth it, no regrets.. But to others, it prolly makes no sense at all.

..."It took me 7 hours, and $640 to put my three cards under water..." Not quite sure what was happening here? Did you upgrade from one/two to three GPUs...AND add LC to each--hence the cost/time?? Or, did you just swap out three (old) for three (new) and that's the cost/time?? I agree with you...LC on the GPUs (maybe) is a luxury--but the promise of getting rid of the "awful sound of graphics card(s) fans, cuts in temp (by half) and (possibly) higher OC's" is VERY TEMPTING!

I did all 3 cards at once. 3 full coverage blocks, pump with res, tripple rad, fans, tubing, fittings ect added up to $640.0 in just parts. As far as time goes, it takes a while to remove the cards, remove the stock cooling, cut all the little pads, get everything cleaned up, install the new full coverage block, re-install, mount the pump, rad, fans. lol then putting on the darn anti kink coils, tubing management, then having to change some wire management, bleeding the system, making sure no leaks.. It takes a while to do. But to see all three overclocked wy past FTW speeds, running furmark benchmark and to see the highest temp 43C.. feels good.
