I had my CPU at 4 GHZ before I sent it in, now I have it at 3.6. The computer is running fine, but damn, every time I look at my overclock it bugs me
![]() Perhaps I'll give a call to DS on Monday to see if I can get it back at 4 GHZ, don't wanna mess anything up. |

Perhaps for stability reasons and heat, we lowered it. It's only to ensure you receive a solid operational product. Setting it back to 4.0GHz, may develop excessive heat, or stability issues... If you really get down into it, the performance difference between 3.6GHz and 4.0GHz is very minimal in game play FPS, etc...
However, it's your call, we can help you, but, it wouldn't be worth the risks in my opinion.

Look at it this way: If you have a game that is totally CPU bound (very rare), and you increase your OC to 4.0, then your framerate would go from 72 fps to 80 fps. It's only an 8 fps difference. Now, since most games are not CPU bound you'll likely only see maybe 1/2 of that improvement. In other words, you might see a 4 fps improvement. That certainly won't be noticeable. James |
