What is the better processor in terms of gaming? last gen i7 (6-core) or i7-2600k. I've been comparing and noticed that the 6-core is more expensive. But I've been reading that the i7-2600k can be more powerful than the 6-core. So which is better?

the 9xx cpus are last gen, the 2600k is the new mid range gen, the highend 6 core new gen will be out in oct/nov.

for most games a quad core is all you need, and of course the new gen cpus are more powerful.
