I see the core voltage 1.392 v and the core speed 1600.1 MHz. Will the core speed change when playing a game and how do i see what the core speed will be. Never really gotten into any of this before.

The core speed will change, try running a benchmark or the built-in Windows Experience Index test, you'll see it change.

Alex, Thank you. Little by little i am starting to learn the workings of the inside of the computer. I have to say the ode3 is one heck of a system. The GTX 570 cards are great. Playing MOH and BF2 right now and they are running great. |

You need to put the cpu under load to see the load vcore and oc speeds.
sfc /scannow follow my fah guide here and run the smp client, then it turns green, you will see your cpu speed and vcore., while doing that download and install HWMonitor to see your load temps. |

his vcore is at idle at 1.39 rice, its high IMHO for idle, which is why I want him to run fah so I can see his load vcore.

all that means is they overclocked via a manual voltage which there is nothing wrong with. If its manual his v-core will go down under load and will be fine. If it goes the other way then theres an issue lol. Edited by RiceEatin2000GT - 16 Sep 2011 at 4:44pm |

right and to find out his oc and vcore under load we need to put it under load and see which direction it goes. IMHO its gonna go up.

I'll take both sides of this discussion.
Pos, if you feel uncomfortable doing test, we've all been there, then know that Digital Storm has tested your system before shipping, under stress, and found it to be rock solid. Sit back and enjoy The other side.... running Dst's tests as he linked to, is simple and straightforward. His instructions are spot on. I found it interesting and fun to learn. Kinda nice to see how things under the hood function. Good luck either way

Its always nice to check though. When i got my PC they had my v-core at 1.54V which would of killed my processor in weeks. |

Rice, I agree, that's why I did my own tests. Didn't know much at first, but learned thru doing. As it turned out, everything was great
There are some, most in fact, that just won't run the tests and rely on DS to have done it right. Hopefully your find, the high v-core, is the exception and not the rule. |

You should always check everything and see where everything is at, does not hurt and can save you lot of headaches

We are here to answer your questions and we expect everybody to know nothing.
vcore below 1.4 is just fine. at 1.42 I assume you should get 4 to 5 years out of it, or maybe not, lol. |
