Hi question for people smarter than me. I have a 2600k which is over clocked to 4.2 ghz. After I have been doing heavy gaming for a while the temp rises to about 58C. Just wondering if this is a safe 24/7 overclock. O and idle it sit at around 36 degrees C. Thanks

Yes, that is perfectly fine. The CPU can hit even 90'C safely under the most extreme stress-testing conditions.

LOL are you asking if 58C is too hot? that is a great load temp to have IMO. Not to say lower is not better but IMHO, anything under 65c is a great load temp to have.
above 85c - 90c is when you want to see lower the temp. Edited by DST4ME - 22 Jan 2011 at 3:31am |

Ok gpu temp question now! I have a gtx 580 and after about an hour and a half of gameplay on badco vietnam which keeps the gpu useage at 100%, my temp stays steady at 77C. With other games it averages 70C, just wondering if having it run at 77 degrees for that long is ok.

My 570 maxes out at 65C. and that's running superclocked with a hi-flow bracket. Your might be a little bit toasty, but then again it should naturally be a little bit hotter than the 570. 80~85C is usually the warning temp for GPUs though.
