Specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2GHz) (Quad Core) (Black Edition) (8 MB Cache) AM3 Socket Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3 (AMD 790X Chipset) (USB 3.0) (Socket AM3) System Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Dominator DHX (High-Performance) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 1x ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H70 Liquid CPU Cooler (High-Performance Edition) Chassis Airflow: Upgrade Chassis With LED Performance Fans (Blue) (Up to 6 Fans) CPU Boost: FREE: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Cooling Upgrade Recommended) OS Boost: FREE: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) I posted here about a month or 2 ago about some concerns I have about my CPU temps, and was told that my temps were ok, but I'm read some conflicting information in regards to that, and I need some input from you guys. First of all, I leave my computer running 24/7 for the most part. Currently I get 40-45 idle temp, and 50-55 while playing a game. These numbers drop about 10 degrees when the weather is cool and I have all my windows open. Now, last time I posted, I was told something along the lines of sub 60c being acceptable, and 40c or less being "good" (I couldn't find my old post). I was personally expecting much better temperatures since I got water-cooling and extra fans --- that aside, I am now starting to become very concerned, as my computer will randomly restart, about once per week I'd say. I know this can be a result of computer overheating (which I certainly hope isn't the case), but I read something concerning about SpeedFan temp readings displaying as 15 degrees lower than what they actually are... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/244534-29-15%C2-quad-core-core-temp-offset-fixed-speedfan I realize that post is pretty old, but does anyone else that uses this program or is knowledgeable on this subject know anything about this? Also, CoreTemp says my Tjmax is 79c. It's my understanding that Tjmax is the "critical limit" temperature, and thats when the computer automatically shuts down (correct me if I'm wrong). I keep seeing people talking about 100c Tjmax, why is mine so low? People also say that you want to try to keep your temperatures 20-30 degrees under your Tjmax, in which case I seem to be cutting it pretty close... or is that not that big of a deal? http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=596631 (post number 2) My primary concern, as always, is damaging my brand new computer. So I need to know if I'm killing my machine here and if I need to change some stuff, or what. I'd like as much input as possible from as many people as possible, please. Also does anyone else think my temperatures are high considering I'm water cooled? I know it's just a self-contained system, but it almost seems like air cooling would have been a better option. |

The temps are perfectly fine. You can go up to 90'C under super heavy stress conditions before any harm begins to happen.

Also Tjmax is the maximum CPU temp before the CPU will throttle itself down. The CPU you have has a lower Tjmax compared to some of the Intel processors. You don't need to worry about anything, your system is perfectly fine. You should enjoy the machine instead of worrying about the CPU temp.
